Walzer gets to depose Connor, doesn't get personnel files

TL editor/publisher Richard Connor has to submit to questioning by former editor Allison Walzer's attorney, a Philadelphia federal judge has ruled. However, Walzer doesn't get the boatload of TL personnel files she claimed would help prove that she was discriminated against because she is a Jewish woman. Dumb question: Why did a judge in Philly and not Scranton rule in the case?

Because that is where the case was filed.

I had the misfortune to work for the Times-Leader for two fun filled years..i find it hilarious that Walzer is depicting herself as some sort of victim ...when during her tenure she did all she could to terrorize and torture her staff..her behavior at times tilted between bipolar and a functioning alky...we were told to avoid eye contact with her lest you provoke her rage...random public chewing out of reporters was common place at times even your apparel was subject to ridcule..and please, she used her religion as an impliment of power and intimidation..and if they expect to get anything out of Van Orden..forget it.. he was her bully boy within photo..a lap dog to the core..she was the poster child on how not to run a paper.

I'd hate to see Walzer get a dime, but the TL should settle so we'll never hear her name ever again.

I personally want to testify so the judge will know what a non-victim she really is. And I'd love to piss her off. Hehe

I never worked with her, but the more I read about her the more amazed I become that some T-L employee didn't just gun her down in the parking lot one night.

In no way should they settle. With a person as evil as this, who thinks she can bully her way into a settlement, it would do everyone justice to bring it to court and let former employees tell their tales. Never met the woman, never worked with her, but agree with 2:40. And what great print it would make -- it's like reading about Anna Nicole (disgusted with myself for doing so, yet wanting more).
