According to E&P: In an e-mail message to his staff, [Beaupre] wrote, "I am happy to report that the lawsuit has been settled to my satisfaction, and I can close this ugly chapter of my life." Yeah, half a mil is pretty satisfactory.

Larry Beaupre to get $550,000 from Gannett

That will buy a lot of Stegmaier on Lackawanna Avenue for Beaupre, now editor of the Scranton Times. The deal ends a wrongful-termination suit Beaupre had filed against Gannett in the wake of the Chiquita scandal.
