Jolyn Resnick is dead

We're sorry we didn't learn of this earlier, but Jolyn Resnick -- the feisty Wilkes-Barre City Hall reporter who covered Mayor Tom McGroarty for the Times Leader -- has died of pancreatic cancer. Resnick was at the TL from 1999 to 2002 and covered City Hall from 2000 to 2002. Barely a year after being named the paper's top reporter, she was demoted suddenly and was forced out in October 2002 shortly before her cancer diagnosis. The obituary includes memorial information. Condolences.

Didn't know her, but no one beats pancreatic cancer - God bless her.

A spitfire reporter and good woman. She certainly kept McGroarty on his toes. You'll be missed, Jolyn.

Three posts for an honorable member of the journalism field, more than two dozen squawking about whether Kelly should write about a dead horse. Ironic

I knew Jolyn 20+ years ago when we were reporters in Lansdale. A hard-nosed reporter and good person.

I worked with Jolyn Reznick at THE Intelligencer/Record in Horsham, PA. She was a slight woman filled with energy, who never seemed to take a break. Lost track of her when I went to grad school at Hahnemann. Gosh I feel terrible.
