Everyone welcome new reporter Sherry Long to the TL

Sherry Long comes to Wilkes-Barre from The Ellis County Press, a weekly in little Ferris, Texas, just down I-45 from Dallas. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Tex. and has also worked at the Henderson (Tex.) Daily News. Welcome.

The TL had to look to Texas to find a reporter?

I'm quite surprised that someone in the news room hasn't photo shopped this picture a bit. Put an eye patch, a parrot and a skull and cross bones du rag on her and ARRRRGGH! you got yourself a pirate.

I'm taking a wild guess: daughter of some Connor advertiser/business crony?

If you talk the talk, don't you have to walk the walk? (or is it walk, then talk...) Connor talks about the value of local news, advertisers, etc., yet seems so far all the valuable talent is out of the area. Take heed young people of northeast Pennsylvania -- you are not worthy. Seek employment elsewhere.

Why do you have to be a native to write local news?
