CV wins Keystone press awards

The Citizens' Voice of Wilkes-Barre won five Keystone press awards. Winners include Dave Janoski, Bob Kalinowski, Heidi Ruckno, Andrew Staub and Erin Moody and Mark Moran. Kudos.

That story by Janoski on Cornerstone was done before. All he did was rehash it.

I was a TL reporter for a short time more than fifteen years ago, and only recently stumbled across this blog -- So pardon my being years behind the times, but can someone tell me how Janoski ended up at the CV? Having known him during my tenure there, it's just hard to believe.

Janoski is a reverse scab. Thank god is out out of the TL. We didn't need him and now he is the CV's problem!

Typical rehash by Dave J. Just like the Wolsofer story from years ago. He did nothing but add his name to Corbett's story.

Up is the new down, 11:37. Short version: KR sold the TL to a hedge fund, which cut off the paper's balls and put them in a jar. Janoski was probably destined for the Nanticoke City Council beat.

At the same time, the CV was continuing its evolution from awful union rag to not-quite-as-awful Times Shamrock satellite. It was a confluence of needs (Janoski needed a job) and abilities (the CV was looking to hire an investigative reporter with chops).

It is pretty funny that he walks in the CV for work every day.

bottom line... more stability at the CV. He has a wife and two kids to support. The TL future was and is unclear.

Which wife?

Janoski was an excellent -- excellet -- reporter and an even nicer guy. But let's keep it in perspective: the reason he left TL was not because of Connor uncertainty; it was because he had sites on Iseman's job at the very least and got kibashed on that, and every promotional advancement opportunity available, unfairly. It was all evident by his slam of Iseman's door. He wanted -- and had the chops for -- a lead editorial job. He pure and simply got burned -- not so much by the new regime, but by the evil vindictiveness of Iseman's old regime. God have mercy on that evil bastard's heart and soul of stone for the ridiculous parting shot he took on Janoski and other TL veterans (you can certainly identify, Mr nepamedia!). For his outright tyrannical injustices - making editors cry in the newsroom, for instance; spreading false word via e-mail and morning meeting about the dearly departed after they were no longer there to defend -- Iseman should burn in Hell. For outright driving a whole caudre of bright, young people out of the profession, we hope you're happy, Iseman. Hope you're happy.

What is the reference to the e-mail about? Does that refer to Kellar?

8:53 p.m., before the pity party gets out of control, please learn how to spell cadre.

And what, Iseman took some shots at Janoski after Janoski went across the alley? Boo-fucking-hoo. I'm shocked. Janoski knows how the game is played. He was probably expecting Babs to go after him for parking tickets as punishment.

Here's the thread from Janoski's departure in December 2006:

Mark Moran is the greatest news photographer this area has ever produced. Period.

you wont see him doing Moments!

Janoski left the TL for one reason. He knew Connor would not continue to pay him 60,000+ per year.

And the CV is????

Moran blows Holeva.

Janoski was smart. He left when he could name his price. After the TL dies, the leftovers will come crawling to the Shamrocks and will take whatever is thrown their way. For some, that means nothing.

MORAN IS THE SH*T!

Dilger is better than Butch.

Moran is overrated/dilger is 100% over him!

Amy Dilger gets lucky thats all/Moran is a pro thru and thru!

Janoski is rehashing everything he wrote at the TL.

No Keystones for TL? Wow, they have gone downhill fast.

What? The TL won 17. Use the scroll bar, stupid

The TL did not win 17. The TL won 10.

Get a grip on reality. The TL photo staff is a group of photojournalists. The CV is a group of people who have cameras. Former production employees, Sunday Independent hacks, etc. Get a grip on what you say, the CV is a roll of toilet paper with some crap printed on it. Will always be the same rag! Everyone who works there (CV) looks like death is around the corner! Its a weekly paper printed on a daily basis. If the Times didn't buy it, they would of been gone by now! Glad I work for TL not that f----n rag over there!
