What if they held an election and the newspaper didn't come?

Not to be dicks, but did anyone let the TL know that there was an election today? Obviously, this is a hard time there; Jerry Kellar's funeral was Tuesday morning. But man. No election coverage on the Web. Zero. Zip. The Voice had 11 stories online plus a photo gallery, appropriate for an election with many contested county and Wilkes-Barre city races. The Times-Tribune in Scranton ran live election results and took the time to count all the write-ins which would be deciding the high-profile commissioners' race there. Even the Hazleton paper had three stories online. It's a shame.

I don't know what you are talking about. I saw several stories on their site today.

Are you looking at the right website. They have numerous stories, pictures and video. They were everywhere.

I think the photo would have been fun if you ran the guy in Florida looking for the hanging chad, or the indentation, or whatever it was.

I was referring to the state of affairs late last night or early today.

Last night was a disgrace - there was no web content at all on the TL site. What a shame.

the tl never should have run that front page article touting that the results would be online. what happened there? anyone know? they were working it -- someone on the web side seems to have dropped the ball.

Wasn't the front page story about the COUNTY posting results online? Those were updated every 10 minutes or so.

I didn't see a peep about any election on the site last night. If the TL covered it, they buried it. The CV did a grteat job.

Dear 3:37 --

You nailed it ... whimsy. Instead of a straight shot showing some local tallying up results (borrring), show that guy with his glasses up closely examining a chad sheet.

It's only a blog; not everything needs be serious.

It's just like the Poconos terrorists story:
It's 2007. Having lots of stories the next day doesn't cut it anymore.

You're right about the TL but I knew someone from TT who went to funeral. They said that the TL folks are so devastated they can barely carry on. I know it's their business and all but it took a lot of wind out of their sails this week. They are close-knit especially now.

I agree with the above .You wont see that at the CV.No heart /no sentiment/no nothing/its Orwells 1984 there were everybodys looking over their shoulder...and with \the exception of very small few, you cant trust many people there especially the Larry Holeva Coffee Walkers.....its primal.

FYI: The dude in the photo is TT reporter Josh McAuliffe. The newspaper tallied the results themselves to get the results in the next a.m.

Times Leader is just a scab paper always has been always will be.
Its edited poorly, the columnists are uneducated and unskilled, and the photography looks like that of a 5 year old. If you work at the Times Leader its likely that you have no talent and were unable to land a job with a real paper. You are all a joke. If I were you people I wouldn't put my name in the credits for anything you place in that paper, its embarrassing

3:56- I have to disagree with you, The Times Leader is a fine paper. The strike ended before I was born. If you can remember the strike it is time to grow up.Your compareing apples and oranges when you compare the TL and CV.

Wow 3:56! The TL a scab paper...I hope your Viagra arrives on time next week, and the supply of KY Jelly for that pillow you screw, you know, the one covered in spit...oh, I'm sorry, I should of said Vaseline, you're probably to old to know about KY Jelly...

I believe the TL promoted Luzerne County's website as being the site to go to on election nite. They were saying something about it being updated every half an hour.

Funny thing is, the TL sucks so bad that it keeps out performing the other papers in awards. OH WAIT. You don't beleive in awards do you?

Sorry, that's like the Kansas City Royals saying they don't believe in wins as a measure of how good their team is. And them some fuckwad goes on to argue that the Royals are better than the Red Sox.

You are entitled to your opinion, however. Even if you are dead wrong and very stupid. Surprised you could even spell KY Jelly.

Oh, sorry. I guess you looked over at the bottle sitting on your nightstand to help you out. My bad.
