Breaking: Dave Falchek of the Scranton Times-Tribune writes the lead blurb for the Office season 3 DVD
"The Office put Scranton on the map." With those seven words, Dave Falchek of the Scranton Times-Tribune achieved immortality -- or at least immortality on half.com and in pawn shops. His blurb is featured prominently on the season 3 Office DVD set. [Credit: The wonderful Albright Memorial Library reference desk blog]

Wow, this is almost as big a feather in the cap as Christine getting mentioned in a book about the Mets. Such is fame in the world of NEPA journalism.
Once again Dave proves his depth and range. Well done Dave!
Poor electric city editor Matt Smith. He thinks himself the ultimate Office journalist and yet he gets dissed again! The first time was when Times-Tribune reporter was invited out to the studio set and now this. Oh well, at least there's the office convention to look forward to. As the TT reports: there's no stars booked but at least the wardrobe hanger will be here. Yee haw!
Oh come on now, EC is a TS property - Matt is a big enough boy to know the deal. All is well.
There is no love lost between the TS newsroom and EC. Believe you me.
Come on. Anyone who works there knows that one never thinks about the other. This is a non-issue.
Nobody sees the big picture here. In Sunday's TL there's a package on The Office Convention, a show sponsored by Times-Shamrock. Why would this be in the TL? Because TS is going to buy the TL sooner than later. NEPA journalists wake up and do a story on this.
9:47, huh? If the TL never wrote about the convention they would be guilty of ignoring the news because a competitor is involved. The TL should be commended for playing it straight.
EC is, like all those daily newscast permutations on 16, just another tool to sell ads. But 8:48 is very right. I don't know what 4:19 knows about Matt Smith and while I'm sure Matt's doing a great job, he's essentially running the school paper there though deserves credit for continuing to find ways to make the same old 20 something would-be avant garde nightlife in NEPA, with all it's original bands that will never get off Adams Avenue and it's galleries that show the gloomy impressions of artists who know the meager appreciation they receive is really only empathy from other artists who are not appreciated either, seem cool.
Both papers used to ignore the other's events, etc. In fact, both used to put employees of the other paper at the end of the line in photos so they could be cropped out.
I wonder if Dave received any money for this. If so, I am sure George will be trying to dig into Dave's pockets and get a cut for the family. I have seen it done before. The last thing that the Lynett family needs is more money!
