Besides the usual "Internet-savvy" editor, Matt Smith and Electric City might also want someone who can spell.

Spelling isn't a concern around the corner of Spruce and Penn it seems. I recall an EC want ad for the TS radio stations seeking interested sales types that included the phrase, "Are you waisting time in your current position?" (Hey, "waist" is a word, spellcheck won't catch that, why would you expect an editor to catch a dumbass copy mistake written by someone in management?) Don't even get me started about syndicated content and wire copy that ends where an editor chopped it to fit the available space, usually in mid-story or by skipping who knows how many inches to get to the final paragraph. I've even seen articles end in mid-sentence. Who needs a period, right?
Fucking brilliant.
Recently, the TL had a headline about that botched execution in Iraq which they called a "Grizzly Hanging" (or something to that effect). One of their readers wrote a neat letter about it.
The TL also recently ran a story reporting the Hollenback Golf Course is owned by Wilkes-Barre Borough. After all the changes, the new editors must be reading stories with eyes wide shut. How could they (and the reporter) not know the place where they work is a city?
