Rich Connor of the TL sends off a longtime downtown W-B merchant

Times Leader Publisher Richard Connor continues his love-in for the golden early 80s in Wilkes-Barre with his eulogy for a former South Main Street corridor merchant who died recently.

This was a great piece. I didn't know Sims and don't have as rosy a view of 80s Wilkes-Barr as Connor does. But I appreciate the nice piece for a local.

Doesn't Connor realize that you can't get advertising revenue from dead people? His "I'll write a nice puffery column if you'll continue to advertise with the TL" approach is sickening. And for God's sake will someone please tell Soprano to stop putting that enormous picture of Connor on the Web site.

i worked there in the past and every time you got on the elevator his face would be staring at you. connor needs to get over himself...it is sickening all the talk of texas and his old buddies from the hood. just goes to show you there isn't any news in wilkes-barre.

Oh, there's news alright, just not enough people willing to take out an ad to get their news in the paper. Why run a good news story when you can hear this old, insane cowboy rant on and on about sh/t no one cares about.
