Eric Mayes, Daily Item of Sunbury win award for Iraq work

The Daily Item of Sunbury was lauded by the erstwhile Inland Press Association for the work of reporter Eric Mayes, who spent time in Iraq with Pennsylvania National Guard units. Kudos.

    Big fuckin' deal.

Chris Kelly paved the way to Iraq for area journalists. No one here ever mentioned the amazing work he did in Iraq.

That fuck-tard Mullen did OK too, for a bi-polar pussy.

Iraq is old news. Want to be big time? Go to Afghanistan.

No. This isn't just another BFD. This local paper deserves a lot of credit for investing in the coverage, although most reporters - regardless of the size of their outlet - ended up getting too chummy with those they traveled and lived with. That was the whole idea as espoused by the Pentagon spinmeisters. And it worked. Read "Fiasco" to get the whole story. And watch "Control Room" for the media manipulation story.
