Doug Pape, a onetime Times Leader sports reporter who ended up in county government, has managed to become the top non-elected official in Luzerne County government. Pape will be paid $72,000, quite a bit less than his predecessor ($85,000) but quite a bit more than his old TL salary. Kudos.

Doug should do well /knew him when he did sports and i was a shooter/good guy. Good luck Doug!
I'm sure Doug is a good guy - he seems like it. I am getting a little tired though of hearing about Skrep taking care of his buddies with taxpayer dollars.

11:08 p.m., Pape was smart enough to move on to something else and has landed a good job making real money. Complaints sound like sour grapes from angry TL'ers who after a decade or two at the paper still hover around $40,000.....
I am so glad that ALL of the debit card criminals kept their jobs.
