Former Scranton Times-Tribune reporter Josh Brodesky, now of the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, was the co-winner of the Arizona SPJ's Sunshine Award, which recognizes important contributions to FOI issues. Kudos.

Wilkes student wins prestigious j-scholarship

Carlton Holmes, a junior at Wilkes from Newark, N.J., is a winner of the NCAA Freedom Forum Sports Journalism Scholarship. Holmes has worked at WBRE and is sports editor of the student newspaper. Kudos.

Former TL staffer Stephanie Bombay to wed museum boss

Former Times Leader reporter and editor Stephanie Bombay is to marry Jesse Teitelbaum, executive director of the Luzerne County Historical Society. Bombay is working for the American Cancer Society. Their announcement, in Sunday's newspaper, was the most e-mailed story of the day. Kudos to both.

Jessica Matthews named business editor at Times-Tribune

Jessica Matthews, formerly the special projects editor at The Times-Tribune of Scranton, has been named business editor at the newspaper. She replaces Jeff Sonderman, who became metro editor. Matthews has been at the newspaper eight years. Kudos.

Scranton Times-Tribune names new metro editor


Jeff Sonderman has been named the new metro editor of The Times-Tribune of Scranton. Kudos. His linkedin resume (click above) has already been updated. Impressive. His Wikipedia page (!) (click below) has already been deleted. No word on a successor for business editor.
