Only in NEPA: Folks confuse Stacy Brown with Al Roker


We've been meaning to pass this along, but Electric City noted a couple weeks ago that during the Office convention people had a hard time keeping Times-Tribune reporter Stacy Brown and NBC Today weatherman Al Roker straight. Classic.

The Office? What's that?

As you may have heard, there was a convention in Scranton this weekend for fans of the NBC program "The Office." Al Roker even did his Today show weather from Da U! It would be impossible to round up all the coverage, so save yourself some time and read Times-Tribune reporter Josh McAuliffe's commentary.

The Washington Post checks in from Scranton


The Office begins its fourth season tonight. The Washington Post parachuted in to do the obligatory "People in Scranton were uneasy about the show at first but now they love it story, while the reader advisory board member (?) Betty Roccograndi of the Times Leader and Josh McAullife of the Times-Tribune write about the upcoming Office convention, sponsored in part by Times-Shamrock. The short version: Only B-listers have committed so far.

  • -- Creed is one crazy motherfucker, the Times-Tribune reports


  • -- Additional cast members are expected to join the convention itinerary in the coming days," Josh McAullife reports as fact. Right.

    Ain't no party like an Office party... organized by Times-Shamrock

    Coincidentally, news of this upcoming office convention appears in the Times-Tribune of Scranton. Tim Holmes, manager of Times-Shamrock's community newspaper operation is heading up plans for the party.

    Philadelphia Magazine mentions Josh McAullife, takes shot at Electric City

    The magazine wrote a sendup of Scranton's love of The Office. Good reading all around. "Wanna-be hip weekly Electric City?" Meow! McAullife, of the Times-Tribune, also rates a mention.
