Lisa Sokolowski, Joe Soprano go the extra mile for NSYNC interview

Tuesday's newsroom note details the hassle the two TL staffers went through to secure an interview with J.C. Chasez.

  3. "After about 20 minutes of mulling around the hotel lobby...."

Must have been some pretty heavy thinking going on in that lobby.

  4. Then the next day we got up and we got dressed and we went to the movies!

But soon our vacation was coming to an end. I'll never forget the fun we had on our vacation.

  5. Oh dear God...all jokes about the TT, the CV, or any fucking newspaper on the planet just became "B" material.

    We've got new gold baby!

    WTF were they thinking?

My only prayer is that they don't reproduce, lest their genes be passed on to future generations of alleged "journalists."

  6. This part is good too:
"Business Writer Jerry Lynott tells us that the region’s unemployment rate ended the year at 4.9 percent. Even though the rate fell one-tenth of a percent, there were lower job counts in the service-providing and goods-producing sectors. (Jerry, what does all this mean?)"

Always a bad sign when someone on the staff can't even understand what a story means. Maybe someone should have cleared up the confusion BEFORE it ran in the freakin newspaper?

  7. The horror, the horror! Thank God they made it out unscathed. It's not just journalism, it's heroism. All true Americans should rest easier tonight knowing you two will make any sacrifice for a major scoop. God bless and keep you.

  8. I know it is a bit off-topic, but I was wondering how many of those "job offers from left to right" have to come to pass for Dave Iseman?

  9. If you work for the Times-Leader under the RC regime can you be classified as "embedded?"

  11. It's a daily train wreck. Not quite at the level Golas took it to, but a wreck none the less.

  12. Wow, it's just a feature story, for a feature section. Chill out and get off your high-horse. You've got a Don Sherwood story to ignore.

  13. hey, leave soprano alone, ok.
he made two beer references in the note and took a real columnist position (something connor might not like because it gives him some competition) by taking a position against the make a wish woman. you're reading the piece and so am i. back mountain republican secret investors are probably lining up ad sales around all this attention. a scantily clothed flack brothers centerfold is likely already in the making for the weekender.

  14. i'll pay to see the flak/flack brothers in their republican underwear in the weekender and will pay double to see their pal dick cheney in a hot tub with don sherwood.
