Chris Kelly's awards

This may have been a quirk or glitch in the Times-Tribune's Web site, but a list of "Chris Kelly's awards" was published on the Web as part of Saturday's paper. Kudos.

  1. Must have been a glitch -- those have always been there.

  2. Interesting list...basically, he's been living off Iraq and 9/11 for the last five years.
    Kind of like Bush.
    Rather ironic, I'd say.

  3. Yeah, Iraq and 9/11, those are one-and-done type stories, wouldn't you say?

  4. If you're a New York Times columnist, no.
If you're a Times Shamrock metro columnist, you should have more to show for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.

  7. Win a few awards and you can pick which ones you think are lame or are about the wrong topic.

    Until then, you're Kelly's bitch.

Looks like we took a trip back to '81. Way to stay with the times, CVer. It still shows in your product, too.

  9. Does anybody know what Kelly's column today was about?

  10. 7:07, who says columns have to be "about" something?

Can't they just be random witticisms that cross Kelly's brain in between net-surfing, meeting-doodling, watching TV, smoking outside and schmoozing on the radio?

The idea that a metro-news columnist actually has to have a topic, a point and some "news" is so 1970s, don't you think?

  11. Hey 11:53, your mindset is a big reason newspaper readership is dropping faster than a turd in a toilet. If you're not an editor already, you're well on your way!

  12. Hey, 9:24: Turds float. At least mine do. Can't you Times Shamrock guys even get that right?

  13. Anything going on? I need a column idea. Any suggestions??

  14. I liked Kelly's Rocket column. A good example of the work he's capable of.
