  2. No award for Roderick Random?

  3. No, because he's a fake and fake journalism doesn't cut it in legitimate journalism circles anymore. Maybe pulling one over on your readers was acceptable in the bad old days, particularly in the Voice and in the Times, but not today. Young professinals expect better from their newsroom leaders.

  4. Before you old-timers flip out, my mispelling of "professionals" is a typo. I'm an editor, too.

  5. Isn't it funny that Corbett blasted a fellow journalist for an ethics-related issue and failed to call the other side for comment.

Too scared to call up the Times and ask about it?

  6. Scared? You must not know Corbett.
Larry should expect a call soon.

  7. What was the "ethical issue" referred to by 7:41? Was it on the radio or in the blog?

I find the handwringing in recent posts over Roderick very amusing. Roderick is a sacred institution as far as the Lynetts are concerned. Frankly, I thought everyone knew it was a pseudonym. So who writes it? Many over the years. Joe X. did at one time. So did Jim Haggerty. The current writer? Think political reporter. Using a pseudonym might be considered old-fashioned, but trust me, everyone in Lackawanna County politics knows who the writer is.
